According to the media source, quality of life incorporates several factors, such as quality of education, quality and availability of health care, cost of living, and cultural accessibility, to name a few. 

Several Massachusetts towns appear on these rankings. According to a USA TODAY Network report, Cambridge came in at No. 7 nationally, Malden at No. 5, Newton at No. 2, and Brookline at No. 1.

Cambridge

Cambridge is portrayed as an educational hub with historic architecture, a median income near $134,000, strong walkability, and a vibrant food scene along Massachusetts Avenue.

Malden

Malden, with approximately 68,000 residents, offers a window into American Revolutionary history. Here, the median household income is approximately $102,000, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy history, nature, and craft beer.

Newton

Newton boasts a median income of approximately $198,000. The community has low unemployment, historic charm, tree-lined streets, safety, and ties to Boston Marathon history with its legendary Heartbreak Hill.

Brookline

Brookline tops national quality-of-life rankings. This community, nestled in the Boston metro area, has a median household income of approximately $152,000. It's famous for its schools, parks, historic homes, cultural attractions, and the Coolidge Corner commercial center.
