Rhode Island families can look forward to a slate of dynamic spring break activities this month. The Providence Journal has identified several attractions and events that parents and kids shouldn't miss in the Ocean State.
Adventureland Family Fun Park
Adventureland Family Fun Park in Narragansett opens for the season on Saturday, April 18. This venue offers attractions such as a carousel, bumper boats, mini golf, go karts, and batting cages. Check the website for operating hours and pricing. Adventureland Family Fun Park is at 112 Point Judith Road in Narragansett.
Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium
The Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium in Bristol owns and protects approximately 9,500 acres of woodlands and coastal property encompassing diverse natural habitats. The site offers guided walks, birding classes, lectures, and animal meet-and-greets. It is located at 1401 Hope St. in Bristol.
Blithewold Mansion
Blithewold Mansion will host Daffodil Days from mid-April to early May, showcasing more than 50,000 daffodils across 100 varieties. Guided and self-guided tours are available; Daffodil Days is included with site admission. The site is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 101 Ferry Road (Route 114) in Bristol.
Roger Williams Park Zoo
Food Truck Friday returns to Roger Williams Park Zoo for a new season beginning on Friday, April 17, and running through Friday, Sept. 25. It will feature live entertainment, rides, a playground, and 15-plus food trucks. Admission is free; guests pay as they go for food and beverages from the vendors. You can check the lineup online each week.
The Roger Williams Park Zoo also offers several engaging problems for families. Opening on Saturday, April 11, A Bug's World allows visitors to experience the natural world as insects do. A separate ticket is required to enter A Bug's World.
Guests are also welcome to Party for the Planet during an Earth Day celebration running from Tuesday, April 21, to Wednesday, April 22. The event will feature hands-on education stations, talks from zookeepers, and live music from the Unlikely Strummers on April 21. Party for the Planet activities are included with admission.
