UConn basketball is on a roll this year, with both the university's men's and women's teams competing in the NCAA tournament. For Jordan's Furniture customers, they're only one win away from scoring new furniture.

According to a CBS Boston WBZ-TV report, the New England retailer announced a special "Make The Finals" promotion in January: Any customer who bought furniture or mattresses from Jordan's between Jan. 20 and March 1 of this year would receive their items free if UConn's men's and women's basketball teams both made it to the national championship game.

There is no limit to how much furniture someone can buy in-store or online as part of the promotion. Boston's WBZ-TV asked Jordan's how much merchandise is available.

While Jordan's could not confirm the amount, a similar promotion in 2007, when the Boston Red Sox won the World Series, had the company giving away more than $30 million in free furniture.

Company president Eliot Tatelman told NESN in 2019 that Jordan's itself isn't responsible if the sports-related free furniture promotion comes into being.

"We buy an insurance policy for this," he explained. "The insurance companies are rooting for it not to happen, but we're rooting for it to happen."

According to an NBC Connecticut report, the promotion was open to all Jordan's customers, not just those living in Connecticut.

UConn Seals Place in the Final Four

The UConn men's team delivered an upset to Duke on Sunday, March 29, to reach the Final Four. Braylon Mullins' deep 3-pointer in the final seconds gave the Huskies the lead they needed to down Duke and face No. 3 Illinois in Indianapolis on Saturday, April 4.

UConn's women's team is also seeking to become national champions. The undefeated squad punched out a 70-52 win over Notre Dame on Sunday. They'll play in Phoenix on Friday, April 3, against either No. 1 South Carolina or No. 3 TCU.

The women's national championship game will be held on Sunday, April 5, and the men's national championship game will take place on Monday, April 6.
