Cambridge will host a World Cup celebration across multiple public spaces — from Central and Harvard Squares to Inman and Kendall/MIT and East Cambridge — this summer. The watch parties will feature live screenings, cultural performances, family activities, and food from Cambridge restaurants, culminating in a Citywide Dance Party on June 26.

According to a City of Cambridge news release, Cambridge received a $65,000 grant plus matching funds to host seven free World Cup watch parties across the city from June to July as part of the Cambridge United – Where the World Comes Together initiative. The initiative is funded by a Healey-Driscoll Administration and Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism grant. Additional support is provided by Cambridge's business associations and city partners to bolster promotion and economic activity during the tournament.

Officials, including Cambridge Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Yi-An Huang, emphasize bringing World Cup energy to neighborhoods and leveraging Cambridge's track record of hosting large cultural events and fostering economic vitality.

Cambridge officials stress that the events will be safe, welcoming, and accessible for residents, visitors, and local businesses while highlighting Cambridge's neighborhoods.
