UMass Dartmouth Achieves Gold Status for Exceptional Veteran Student Support

UMass Dartmouth has earned a gold rank on the 2026–2027 Military Friendly School list, recognizing the school's support for veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.

Public data and an annual survey determine Military Friendly ratings. An independent advisory council of veteran-education experts evaluates them. Within the Gold status level, the university is categorized in Tier 2 for research institutions.

"This recognition reflects our deep commitment to serving those who have served our country," said Associate Dean of Students Shelly Metivier Scott in a statement shared in a university news release. "At UMass Dartmouth, we work hard to provide resources, support systems, and opportunities that empower military-affiliated students to succeed academically and professionally."

According to the release, UMass Dartmouth provides tailored services for military and veteran students, including dedicated advising, flexible programs, and support for transitioning veterans to civilian careers.
