Main Street Group Foundation is helping support UMass Memorial Medical Center's Marlborough campus. The $100,000 donation will support the emergency department on campus.

According to a Patch of Marlborough report, the funds will finance renovations and expansions to the emergency department. These renovations will add multiple features. Including 10 new treatment rooms, convert three existing rooms into convertible spaces, and creating two dedicated trauma rooms. This will effectively nearly double the ED's size.

According to the Patch, construction on the emergency department at UMass Memorial Medical Center began in the fall of 2025 and is slated for completion by late 2026. Hospital officials said that patient care is expected to start in December 2026.

Main Street Bank, which serves Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, funded the donation as part of its community support initiatives.

“We are grateful to the Main Street Group Foundation for their generous support of this important project,” said Justin Precourt, president of UMass Memorial Medical Center, in a statement. “This $100,000 gift will help us enhance the emergency department, expanding our capacity and creating a modern care environment that supports timely, high-quality emergency care for our patients.”
