The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, in partnership with Suffolk Construction, launched a new STEM curriculum and patch program called “Daisies Who Build.” The initiative introduces kindergarten and first-grade Girl Scouts to construction careers through hands-on building activities.
According to a 7NEWS Boston report, the program was unveiled at Suffolk's Boston headquarters on Saturday, March 7. There, participating troops toured the company's facilities, participated in a hands-on STEM activity, and earned patches and certificates upon completing the program.
The “Daisies Who Build” curriculum guides girls through an interactive building design challenge that teaches design coordination, construction principles, and industry-standard collaborative problem-solving. “Daisies Who Build” expands on the previous series of Girls Scouts “Build” programs, following “Juniors Who Build,” “Brownies Who Build,” and “Cadettes Who Build.”
