Lexington has announced it will ban gas-powered leaf blowers for residents starting March 15. Commercial landscapers have already been prohibited from using leaf blowers since March 15, 2025.
According to the Town of Lexington's website, the prohibition stems from an amendment to the town's Noise Bylaw approved at Town Meeting in 2021. This amendment sets seasonal limits on the use of gas-powered leaf blowers and a full phase-out for all users.
Residents who use leaf blowers on their properties should switch to electric leaf blowers for spring cleanup to comply with the new rule.
Additional details about the bylaw are available on the Town of Lexington's website.
