A customer-favorite Boston eatery is expanding beyond the Seaport and setting sights on a second location in Burlington.
A spokesperson for Citrus & Salt confirmed with MassLive that the restaurant would open a second location in Burlington this summer. Details about an opening date and operating hours will be released at a future date.
The Burlington site will sit at 19 Third Ave. in the Third Avenue Shopping and Lifestyle Center, where it will feature an expansive patio and an extra private dining room. Citrus & Salt's new Burlington restaurant will mirror its flagship Seaport spot with coastal Mexican fare — think margaritas, mimosas, tacos, and quesadillas — inside a bright, beachy space with hand-painted decor.
Celebrated chef Jason Santos, who has appeared on popular cooking shows such as Hell's Kitchen and Bar Rescue, leads Citrus & Salt. He also oversees Buttermilk and Bourbon in Back Bay and Watertown, and Butterbird in Watertown.
The expansion to Burlington isn't the first time that Citrus & Salt has been making moves within the region. According to a 2017 Eater Boston article, the restaurant took over the former Back Bay Harry's location at 142 Berkeley St. in November of that year. In 2024, Citrus & Salt closed its Back Bay establishment and relocated to a larger space at 319 A St. in the Seaport.
