The Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro has welcomed a new bobcat cub named Marley Maye, a nod to New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.

According to a NewsCenter 5 Boston report, Marley Maye arrived from a wildlife rehabilitation facility in Oregon and is currently in quarantine at Capron Park Zoo.

"She's not ready to take the field just yet, but trust us … this rookie has serious potential," the zoo wrote in a social media post.

Zoo officials reported that the quarantine period will be used as a "preseason" for Marley Maye before she debuts in her habitat.

NBC 10 News WJAR reported that the zoo will provide updates on Marley Maye's condition as she prepares to join the zoo's exhibit spaces.

This isn't the first time that Drake Maye has shared his namesake recently. NewsCenter 5 reported that Maynard, Massachusetts Select Board voted on Tuesday, Feb. 3, to temporarily change the town name to "MAYEnard" for one day only on Feb. 8, Super Bowl Sunday.

Kickoff for the Super Bowl is at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
