Since last week's snowstorm unleashed up to 2 feet of snow on some regions of Massachusetts, Boston public works crews have spent hundreds of hours trying to clean up from the storm.
NewsCenter 5 Boston reported that more than 350 city workers removed more than 2,500 tons of snow from city neighborhood streets as of Thursday, Jan. 29.
Following the storm last week, Boston, much of New England, and the U.S. Northeast have been shivering under below-normal temperatures and bitter wind chills, making snow removal efforts even more challenging for communities like Boston, Needham, and West Roxbury.
Boston officials are reminding property owners to clear sidewalks or face fines. The city has issued 332 sidewalk violations as of Thursday, Jan. 29.
In Massachusetts, Gloucester saw the most snow from the Jan. 25 storm, with 27 inches recorded as of Tuesday, Jan. 27.
