Marking its 20th anniversary this year, the Providence Restaurant Weeks event will run Sunday, Jan. 25, through Saturday, Feb. 7. Approximately 100 dining establishments will offer prix-fixe menus, lunch and dinner specials, and other offers for their guests.

Participating restaurants reflect 13 different towns in the Ocean State. They include Bristol, Cranston, East Greenwich, East Providence, Johnston, North Providence, Pawtucket, Providence, Richmond, Smithfield, Warren, Warwick, and West Warwick. Chardonnay's Restaurant in Seekonk, Massachusetts, is also participating.

Kristen Adamo — president and CEO of GoProvidence, which organizes the event — confirmed with NBC 10 News in Providence that this year's first-time participants include the Yellow Door Taqueria and Ten Prime Seafood in Providence, as well as the recently reopened Metacom Kitchen in Warren.

“Since introducing Providence Restaurant Weeks 20 years ago, we've seen Providence's culinary reputation continue to rise,” Adamo said. “Food & Wine recently named us one of America's Next Great Food Cities, highlighting the chefs, restaurants, and diverse dining scene that set us apart.”

Several of the restaurants taking part in Providence Restaurant Weeks will also be promoted in the Providence Culinary Collective, a second restaurant-based event scheduled for late March, noted What's Up Newport.
