Two Boston Chops locations, one in the South End and one in Downtown Crossing, have closed as the restaurant chain transitions to new ownership and a revitalized concept.

The Boston Restaurant Talk blog stated that multiple sources confirmed that the two locations were no longer in operation. A post on the company's website noted the following:

"We are grateful for every team member, neighbor, guest, and vendor who built and sustained Boston Chops. It has been an extraordinary journey full of celebrations, but we are now closed to make way for new ownership and a revitalized concept to better serve the community. Thank you & you're welcome, Chops Family"

According to the Boston Restaurant Talk blog, the South End location opened in 2013, and the Downtown Crossing site debuted in 2018. Both were known for steak, seafood, an extensive wine list, and cocktails.

It is not yet known what will replace Boston Chops in these spaces.
