Plans for a new Falmouth police station are moving forward after town officials approved nearly $5 million for planning and permitting for a site at 100 Brick Kiln Road. The approvals follow a November 2025 meeting on the matter.
The Falmouth Police Station Advisory Committee began in January 2025 and conducted a thorough review of potential replacement sites for the police station. A proposed initial site at 484 Brick Kiln Road raised environmental concerns from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection due to its proximity to the Long Pond watershed.
According to a CapeCod.com report, town officials note that 100 Brick Kiln Road is not within the Long Pond watershed. The property was purchased from the Augusta family, which has historically been the site of a drive-in theater.
Brick Kiln Road sits in a busy corridor with other developments underway, including a new YMCA facility expected to open in about two years.
Officials said the police station project is needed to replace Falmouth's antiquated, undersized station.
