Two local developers, Rob Headley and Doug Karo, are advancing plans for The Cove Club, an indoor golf and grill venue at 20 Broad Cove Road in Hingham. The full-pour liquor license was approved unanimously by the Hingham Select Board in November, and the facility is on track for a fall 2026 opening.

According to a report by The (Hingham) Anchor, Headley and Karo have secured approvals from the zoning, planning, building, and conservation departments over the past two years and have been planning the venture for more than four years, amid growing industry momentum for indoor golf simulators.

The Cove Club seeks to create a club-like, member-focused experience rather than a retail golf shop. Headley and Karo said they aim to attract families, schools, businesses, and charities. To that end, they have hired a veteran food and beverage manager to elevate the culinary offering.

According to The (Hingham) Anchor, the venue will deliver a waterfront, country-club–style experience with six high-end golf simulators on the first floor, a second-floor grill room, a 20-plus-seat bar, multiple fireplaces, and lounge areas.

The project honors the site's local history, which dates to 1922 as the Iris Ballroom and was later renamed The Cove after its location along the banks of Broad Cove. Construction on the project is underway, and the developers said word is getting out to the community.

“We're thrilled with the overwhelming response and interest in membership early on, as well as the inquiries from many talented individuals regarding employment…. Doug and I cannot wait to restore the property and make the Cove Club one of Hingham's top destinations for golf, entertainment, and dining. It's truly exciting to see our vision brought to life,” Headley said in a statement.

The owners are accepting membership applications through the website coveclub.golf.
