The Nantucket Christmas Stroll, also known as the Nantucket Noel, will return to Rhode Island for three days from Friday, Dec. 5, through Sunday, Dec. 7. Locals and visitors are invited to shop locally and enjoy holiday festivities throughout the weekend.

Originating in 1973 to boost local shopping, the event has grown into an internationally recognized winter festival that now draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, according to a Boston Uncovered report.

Each day of the Nantucket Christmas Stroll offers boundless opportunities for holiday fun, local shopping, a Santa's Village Marketplace, and an evergreen wonderland. Below is a snapshot of the excitement in store:

  • 12th annual Nantucket Nutcracker
  • Book signing with the “Queen of Nantucket” Elin Hilderbrand
  • Deck the Wharf Bash at Straight Wharf Fish
  • Desserts from James Beard-nominated pastry chef Sofia Tejeda
  • Festive meal at The Nantucket Hotel & Resort
  • Nantucket Yacht Club Holiday Market
