Taunton Prepares for 112th Annual Lights On Festival for Dec. 6

The Lights On Festival returns to Taunton on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Taunton Green. Lights On will feature holiday lights, music, Santa visits, and a laser light show. This year marks the 112th Lighting of the Taunton Green, underscoring the festival's long-standing role in the community and the community's nickname, The Christmas City.
Celebrations will kick off with an opening ceremony at 4:30 p.m. at Taunton Green, according to a Taunton Daily Gazette report. More than 30 entertainment venues will offer live performances, children's activities, and other attractions throughout downtown Taunton.
According to the Lights On Festival's website, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the holiday lights throughout the holiday season on the Taunton Green, along Main Street, at Liberty & Union Park, and near the Memorial Fountain on the Church Green. Parking downtown is encouraged and will be free on weekday evenings and on weekends.
Santa will appear at his house on Taunton Green on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pictures are complimentary; visitors may bring their own cameras.
