Time for tea? You can enjoy a soothing cup of comfort during afternoon tea at The Street Bar in The Newbury Boston hotel, located at 1 Newbury St. in Boston.

The setting blends cozy, wood-paneled interiors overlooking the Boston Public Garden with warm, colorful seating that evokes a classic British tea-time vibe. Afternoon tea is available Friday through Sunday with seatings at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Newbury Boston's afternoon tea features a curated loose-leaf tea program, including Lady Blue Earl Grey, Japanese Sencha, and Pumpkin Crème Rooibos. Accompanying the tea are various savory sandwiches, scones, and pastries.

Sandwiches elevate the menu beyond basics. They feature delicacies such as truffled Japanese Jidori egg on brioche, crostini with prosciutto and figs, and beetroot tartlets with tarragon chicken and chutney.

Scones — specifically butternut and pear-ginger — are described by The Boston Globe as tender and tasty, best enjoyed with clotted cream and lemon curd on the side.

Desserts feature a taste-tempting apple crumble tart, spiced orange cake, gingery chocolate truffle, matcha macaron, white chocolate cheesecake, and a chocolate-dipped strawberry, with to-go boxes offered for leftovers.

The afternoon tea experience at The Street Bar is definitely a splurge: $110 or $135 with a glass of Champagne. Reserve your tea-time experience by calling 617-536-5700 or booking online.
