Friday, Nov. 7
- Four Eleven Gallery at 411 Commercial St. will celebrate the opening of an exhibition of landscape paintings by Valerie Isaacs with a reception on Friday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. The show is on view until Dec. 2. Visit the gallery's website for more information.
- A new season of FAWC Fridays at the Fine Arts Work Center at 24 Pearl St. begins on Friday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. The program will include an artist talk with Kristy Hughes, a reading by poet Samyak Shertok, and a gallery activation by artist Jeff Gibbons. Admission is free.
Saturday, Nov. 8
- The Metropolitan Opera's production of Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème, starring soprano Juliana Grigoryan as Mimi and tenor Freddie De Tommaso as Rodolfo, will be simulcast live at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, 2357 Route 6, on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. as part of the Met: Live in HD series. Tickets are $18-$33.
- An exhibition of paintings by Alexander Ayala is opening at Wellfleet Public Library, 55 W. Main St., with a reception featuring live music by Paul Kehoe on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. The show is on view until Dec. 5.
Sunday, Nov. 9
- The 19th season of the Provincetown Film Art Series at Waters Edge Cinema, 237 Commercial St., begins on Sunday, Nov. 9, with a screening of Víctor Erice's 2023 Spanish-Argentine mystery drama Close Your Eyes. A champagne and hors d'oeuvre reception will start at 11 a.m., followed by the film at noon. Tickets are $35 plus fees.
Monday, Nov. 10
- Retired fisherman and third-generation Provincetown native Peter R. Cook will host a screening of his film, Dad, I Wanna Go Fishin'. This “dive into the salty soul of Provincetown's fishing legacy” will take place at the Wellfleet Adult Community Center, 715 Old King's Highway, on Monday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. Cook will join the audience for a Q&A session after the film. Thursday, Nov. 13
- Actor Michael Devine will share the basics of improvisational theater through games and exercises in an eight-session workshop at Eastham Public Library, 190 Samoset Road, beginning on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 5:30 p.m. Admission is free. Register online.
