A New Hampshire State Police enforcement effort on the Everett Turnpike in Nashua resulted in approximately 100 vehicle stops and 40 court summonses for speeding and aggressive driving during the morning commute on Monday, Nov. 3.
State troopers, along with Nashua police, conducted “high-visibility patrols” as part of the enforcement effort.
“These types of collaborative enforcement efforts will be ongoing to improve safety during the commuting hours on the Everett Turnpike,” state police said in a statement shared with the Patch of Concord.
In other police-related news, Andrew Bourassa, 76, was charged after state police accused him of driving south in the northbound lane on Interstate 93 in Plymouth in a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse. His arraignment is set for Dec. 18 in Plymouth District Court.
A Belmont man, Christopher Truett, 37, was charged after a Laconia police cruiser directing traffic at a crash scene was struck by Truett's Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of Old Prescott Hill Road and Laconia Road. Truett faces charges including negligent driving and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. According to police, the police officer's vehicle was blocking the road, with the cruiser's emergency lights on, at the time of the crash.
