This weekend in Boston and its surroundings is packed with diverse cultural and musical events, many celebrating Halloween and Día de los Muertos. Here's a look at what's coming up this weekend:

Friday, Oct. 31

On Friday, Oct. 31, the Substation in Roslindale will host a Halloween Pregame Bonanza with board games, karaoke, and retro arcade games, perfect for a fun Halloween night.

Friday, Oct. 31-Saturday, Nov. 1

The "Spirits of the Old Manse" event, running from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, offers a candlelit historical tour in Concord, focusing on past residents like Nathaniel Hawthorne and revolutionary figures, blending history with spooky ambiance.

Saturday, Nov. 1

On Saturday, Nov. 1, Vietnamese composer Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ will perform her experimental orchestral piece, The Odyssey, inspired by Vietnamese refugees and their stories, at the Tsai Performance Center.

Also on Saturday, at the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, a cultural festival and gathering will begin at 2 p.m. to commemorate Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Artisan vendors will offer snacks, crafts, and more, along with a commemorative altar and a parade of catrinas, a popular personality associated with the holiday. 

Sunday, Nov. 2

Celebrations at Bow Market on Sunday, Nov. 2, will include crafts, face-painting, live cumbia music, and offerings to honor loved ones, continuing the Día de los Muertos tradition.
