The upcoming sequel to The Walking Dead, titled The Walking Dead: Dead City, will be filming in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Thursday, Oct. 30. Police say Franklin Street from Portland Street to Main Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to noon, as will Federal Street.

Crews were also busy filming on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Filming this fall was not the first time the AMC zombie show has recorded a season in Worcester. The Walking Dead spinoff filmed scenes for its second season in Worcester in 2024, according to a Patch of Worcester report.

The popular television show, which is filming its third season, also filmed in the city in late September. Parts of Worcester became a mini-apocalyptic replica of New York City during that time.

The Walking Dead: Dead City is one of two films currently in production in Massachusetts. The other is a Mark Wahlberg movie for Apple Studios called Weekend Warriors

According to CBS News Boston, Wahlberg, a Dorchester native, was spotted filming the basketball-themed project in Lynn and a truck stop in Shrewsbury earlier this month.

Per the Massachusetts Film Office, anyone interested in working on these projects can email the Dead City production or contact the Wahlberg movie production to determine if crew members are still needed.
