With concerns mounting about a potential freeze on SNAP benefits at the beginning of November, one Taunton restaurant owner is stepping up to ensure people in need won't go hungry.
Sylvester English, owner of Kinfolks Smokin BBQ, is offering $6 meal deals every Monday to support the community.
According to an NBC 10 News report, English announced that the $6 meal deal will continue for as long as the government remains shut down. He emphasized that even those unable to pay are welcome to enjoy a meal at his place.
NBC 10 News reported that English has received more than $200 in donations to help fund these meals.
Kinfolks Smokin BBQ is at 289 Winthrop St. in Taunton. Menu specialties include tender brisket sandwiches and flavorful pulled pork dinners, all crafted using the freshest ingredients.
