The MBTA has announced its fall and winter Commuter Rail schedules, which took effect beginning Monday, Oct. 27. All lines will maintain consistent service throughout the day, during late-night hours, and on weekends. Minor adjustments have been made to account for fall and winter weather conditions.
- The Fairmount Line remains on a temporary construction schedule as the rail replacement project to prepare the line for battery-electric trains moves forward.
- Due to ongoing infrastructure upgrades, the Franklin/Foxboro and Providence/Stoughton Lines are still operating under temporary construction schedules. The Providence/Stoughton construction schedule has been adjusted, with the changes taking effect on Oct. 27.
- The Haverhill Line has added a new weekday inbound train from Haverhill to North Station, departing at 8:27 p.m.
- The Lowell Line now features a new hourly outbound train from North Station to Lowell, departing at 9:45 p.m.
- For the Newburyport/Rockport Line, the last weekday train from North Station to Rockport will depart at 11:55 p.m., replacing the previous transfer at Salem for Rockport service.
The MBTA offers resources like the "Mass by Train" website and social media channels to help passengers plan trips, stay updated on schedules, and access real-time service information across Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
