Sam Adams has made their strongest beer ever - Utopias 2025 packs a whopping 30% alcohol content, making it illegal in 15 states across America. The Boston Beer Company's newest brew breaks all previous records.

"Reaching 30% ABV is a remarkable milestone for Utopias—not for the number itself, but for what it represents: the relentless pursuit of craft without compromise. Every vintage, barrel, and bottle reflects decades of experimentation, innovation, and collaboration, delivering a sipping experience that is truly unparalleled, collectible, memorable, and worth the wait," said Boston Beer Company CEO Jim Koch.

Laws in states like New Hampshire prevent it from being sold, since beer can't go over 14% alcohol - not even close to Utopias' strength. Vermont, North Carolina, Georgia, and Oregon have also banned the super-strong beer.

Each numbered ceramic bottle looks like a copper kettle and contains 24.5 ounces. With a price tag of $240 per bottle, drinkers should limit themselves to just an ounce or two. The high cost reflects how rare this beer really is.

This special batch blends beers aged for up to 30 years. The aging happens in different barrels - from Irish Whiskey to Cognac, then through Amarone, White Port, Ruby Port, Carcavelos, and Scotch barrels.

Since it first came out in 2002, this is Utopias' 14th release. The whole thing started back in 1992, when brewers first tried making Samuel Adams Triple Bock, followed by Millennium Ale in '99.

Earlier versions had between 24% and 28% alcohol - way stronger than the regular 5% beers you'd find at your neighborhood bar.

Every bottle has a bit of all previous Utopias releases mixed in. This rich blend is packed with bold flavors: you get sweet caramel mixed with smoky oak, plus dried fruits and zesty citrus notes.
