A new wellness cafe will open soon at Northborough's Pierce Plaza.

Northborough Nutrition Hub, at 60 W. Main St., will offer a diverse menu of health-focused food and drink. Customers can choose from 50 shakes and 17 varieties of protein shakes, in addition to energy teas and protein waffles. The shakes' flavors range from tropical fruit and chocolate chip to banana bread.

Susan Farrington, a former nurse and experienced wellness entrepreneur, will operate the shop with her daughter-in-law, co-owner Andreanna Stanton. Stanton, a Worcester resident, is a registered nurse and co-owner of Heart City Health in Framingham with her husband.

“It's a great community. I feel like it's a growing community,” Farrington said in a statement shared with the Community Advocate. “People need a good, healthy spot to come, whether it be for breakfast or before school with the kids, and get a healthy protein shake.”

Northborough Nutrition Hub will also offer wellness evaluations and personalized health plans for muscle gain, weight loss, and other health goals.

The shop is in the final stages of inspection and aims to open at some point during the week of Oct. 20. Beyond Northborough Nutrition Hub's opening, Farrington said she aims to host community events, such as a free diabetic lifestyle program and a kids' corner featuring “Mommy and Me” storytime.
