As National Teen Driver Safety Week, Oct. 19-25, continues in New Hampshire, officials emphasize the dangers teens face on the road, including speeding, distraction, and fatigue, which are often linked to fatal crashes.
Experts warn that inexperience behind the wheel, along with distractions such as mobile phone use, late-night driving, and peers in vehicles, significantly elevates the likelihood of crashes among teens in New Hampshire. That's despite a general decline in overall traffic fatalities.
The campaign strongly encourages parents to talk with their teens about safe driving habits and the dangers of risky behaviors behind the wheel.
According to the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety, distracted driving remains one of the most preventable causes of serious collisions involving teen drivers.
