The Preservation Society of Newport County has announced tickets are on sale for its annual Halloween and holiday celebrations at the Newport Mansions.
Trick-or-Treating at The Breakers
Halloween trick-or-treating at The Breakers will return Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and 25. Admission will take place in two sessions each evening at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to participate in costume. Treats and prizes will be available to attendees, with children younger than 2 admitted free. Attendees are asked to share a nonperishable food item for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center food pantry.
Holidays at the Newport Mansions
Starting Nov. 21, the Preservation Society of Newport County will hold the annual Holidays at the Newport Mansions. The event will transform four Gilded Age mansions — The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms, and Chateau-sur-Mer — into holiday displays with Christmas lights, decorated trees, floral decor, poinsettias, and themed decor.
Inside each mansion, visitors can enjoy elaborate holiday decor, including a 15-foot poinsettia tree in The Breakers' Great Hall made of 150 live plants, festive floral arrangements, and themed decorations.
Sparkling Lights at The Breakers
A highlight of the holiday season is the "Sparkling Lights at The Breakers," now in its sixth year. The half-mile outdoor path features more than 25,000 new lights, illuminated gardens, whimsical displays, fire pits, and food and drink options.
The "Sparkling Lights" event offers timed tours at 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. Gates close at 6:30 p.m., and the grounds and house close at 8 p.m.
Holiday Dinner Dance
The Holiday Dinner Dance returns to The Breakers on Saturday, Dec. 20. This event will feature a four-course dinner in the Great Hall and Dining Room, followed by dancing in the Music Room. The black-tie event is sold out.
All Newport Mansions properties are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. They will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24.
