It's peak apple-picking season at Belkin Family Lookout Farm at 89 Pleasant St. in South Natick. The warm weather during the weekend of Sept. 27-28 brought large crowds to the orchard.
According to Laura Neville, the farm's marketing director, September and October are critical harvest months for farmers in New England. Despite the lack of significant rain over the last few months, a good crop yield is expected for this fall season.
Belkin Family Lookout Farm, established in 1651, covers more than 160 acres. It is considered one of America's oldest farms, offering a variety of fresh produce, including apples, pears, and pumpkins, for sale.
"You're going to expect beautiful walks through the orchards with grapevine trellises, simply breathtaking scenery. It's one of the most well-maintained orchards, probably in all of New England," Neville said in a statement shared with CBS News Boston.
The farm features an on-site taproom, market, and outdoor dining area. Belkin Family Lookout Farm is also famous for its delicious apple cider doughnuts.
Apple-picking season will last through approximately the next eight weeks, Neville said.
