A Harvest Moon Festival, celebrating the end of summer and the beginning of the harvest season, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Onset. The rain date will be on Sunday, Sept. 28.
More than 100 craft, merchandise, and community services vendors will be present around Prospect Park, along with 12 food vendors. The event, hosted by the Onset Bay Association, will offer activities such as balloon art, face painting, and caricatures for all ages.
Live music performances from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be held at the bandshell and feature acts such as Daddy O! 50's Rockabilly Swing, G and Friends, Rack ‘Em Up, and Neal McCarthy and Friends.
A classic car show organized by the Rusty Nuts Car Club of Wareham will give guests opportunities to explore classic cars from multiple manufacturers and models. Participants in the show should arrive before 10 a.m. Space is limited to 300 cars; dash plaques will be given to the first 125 cars.
According to a Wareham Week report, limited street parking will be available. Free parking is offered at Hynes Field and the Temple Lot on Union Avenue. Road closures will be in effect along Onset Avenue from Marc Anthony's to the Condos at 185 Onset Ave. and up Union Avenue to 10th Street.
