On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Mass General Brigham (MGB) launched the first of three free pop-up clinics in Boston aimed at providing alternative health treatments to promote relaxation and healing. The next event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 21, on the main campus at MGB.

Those who want to participate in the clinics can walk in without an appointment. MGB's goal is to provide low-barrier access to a range of healing options, including Reiki, acupuncture, and sound healing.

"This is an opportunity to have both an experience and then to understand in what ways does this work for me and where do I then get this?" said Dr. Darshan Mehta in a statement shared with NewsCenter 5 WCVB. "In a hospital, we're able to create such an easy healing space. How do we make this more of a reality in our health care settings?"

The new alternative health treatment offering is supported by the Center for Comprehensive Healing at MGB, funded by the Shah Foundation in 2024.
