After taking a year off, the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series is coming back to the US. The heart-pounding event takes place at in the Seaport in Boston, September 19-20, 2025. Last year's 100th competition brought in a huge crowd of 45,000 people along the waterfront.
The brave divers will jump from platforms set up on the Institute of Contemporary Art building. Men will dive from 88.5 feet up, while women will leap from 69 feet into the harbor below.
These gutsy athletes hit speeds up to 60 mph as they dive through the air. Five judges watch each dive closely, looking for perfect form and smooth movement. They throw out the highest and lowest scores, with the middle scores deciding how well each diver did.
During the competition, divers need to show off their moves from four different positions. The special King Kahekili Trophy, named after the Hawaiian chief who started cliff diving hundreds of years ago, is back in the US for the first time since 2010.
The event starts Friday with early rounds. Women begin at 9:30 a.m., with men starting at 10 a.m. Both groups finish two rounds that day.
Things heat up Saturday morning when round three begins at 10:15 a.m. The women's finals start at 11:35 a.m., and the men's championship follows at 12:20 p.m. Everything wraps up with the trophy ceremony at 1 p.m.
At last year's big Boston event, Rhiannan Iffland and Aidan Heslop came out on top during the series' 100th competition.
Doors open at 8:45 a.m. both days. You can still watch for free - which is why thousands of excited fans packed the harbor last year.
