Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year by the Boston Business Journal (BBJ) for its charitable contributions in Massachusetts. The life insurance carrier ranked No. 87 in the BBJ's 20th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards list. This recognition was awarded at BBJ's 20th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards ceremony held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Big Night Live in Boston.
Since its founding in 1891, Boston Mutual has maintained a strong commitment to community service through its "Making an Impact" corporate citizenship program. This initiative has contributed nearly 1,500 volunteer hours, more than 800 donations, and more than $1.75 million to various charitable causes across the United States, including Massachusetts and Nebraska, where the company maintains its corporate offices.
"It's a privilege to be recognized by the Boston Business Journal for the seventh year in a row," said Paul A. Quaranto, Jr., chair and CEO at Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, in a news release. "Our commitment to giving back is deeply rooted in our values as a mutual company. We believe in the power of collective impact, and I'm continually inspired by our employees' dedication to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve."
According to BBJ Market President and Publisher Carolyn Jones, 99 companies that appear on this year's list of the Top Charitable Contributors in Massachusetts gave $100,000 or more to Massachusetts-based charities in 2024. Their collective donations totaled more than $416 million in cash contributions to nonprofits.
