The Newport International Boat Show has kicked off its 54th annual event, which will run through Sunday, Sept. 14. The boat show season will feature four days of displays spanning more than 17 acres in downtown Newport.
Held at the Newport Yachting Center, the show will feature new sailboats and powerboats across six connecting show sites. Some will make their U.S. debut. Visitors can also browse hundreds of marine products, services, and accessories for use on the water and on land.
In addition to the public events, the Newport International Boat Show will feature educational items such as the popular Cruiser's Classroom at the Hammetts entrance. This experience provides hands-on training on topics from boating safety to maintenance and fishing. New this year is BoatClass, powered by the Freedom Boat Club, which will provide on-the-water training by appointment.
The Newport for New Products program returns to highlight brand-new boat models and marine products. Industry experts will judge entries on opening day, with awards announced on Friday, Sept. 12.
Tickets can be purchased on the show's website. General admission is $32 for one-day admission on Friday, Sept. 12, through Sunday, Sept. 14. Two-day passes range from $54 to $65. Children younger than 10 enter free with an adult.
Military families, veterans, and Newport County residents receive discounted $20 tickets on Sunday with their ID at kiosk row.
The show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
